Uniform Policy

  • Harahan Uniform Dress Code

    Pre-K -K: Purple polo-style shirts must be worn in Pre-K. All shirts must be tucked in at the waist except in Pre-K. Elastic waist navy blue uniform pants may be worn in Pre-K and Kindergarten only-no belt required.

    Jumpers: Girls in Pre-K thru Second Grade may wear navy blue jumpers or skorts. Belts are not required on skorts without belt loops

    1st – 5th Grade:

    Tops: Short sleeve red polo-style knit shirts with the school logo must be worn.  All shirts must be tucked in at the waist.  No long sleeve undergarments are allowed. Only white undershirts can be worn. Sleeves must not go below the uniform sleeve. Harahan school fleece jackets or navy blue cardigan sweaters are allowed.

    Bottoms: Pants/shorts must be navy blue belted uniform pants.  Pants/shorts must be worn at the waist level. Baggy pants are not acceptable.

    Belts: Belts must be worn daily. Belts must be solid blue, black, brown, or khaki.

    Socks: Socks must be white crew socks. No ankle or footie type socks.

    Shoes: The only shoes permitted are tennis shoes. No slip on tennis shoes. Shoes with laces must be tied correctly.

    Jackets/Coats: The only pullover garments allowed are the Harahan School fleece jacket or sweatshirt or a navy blue cardigan. Coats may be worn over the uniform on very cold days.

    Hats: Hats or hoods are not allowed. (Students will be kept warm in the school buildings for arrival and dismissal.)

    Additional Uniform Regulations for ALL Students:

    No tattoos are allowed.

    No bandanas, rags, etc. are allowed on campus.

    No artificial hair coloring will be allowed.

    No dangling or hoop earrings are allowed. Stud earrings for girls only are allowed.


    All infractions will be marked on the Minor Infraction Chart. All students must wear the correct uniform daily – No exceptions unless a uniform free day is designed.
