Uniform Policy

Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten Shirts - As required by JP Schools for safety reasons, all Pre-K and Kindergarten students must wear solid purple, collared shirts with the Gretna No. 2 logo (may be long or short sleeved).
Students will be encouraged to keep shirts tucked in at all times.
Sweaters/Sweatshirts/Light Jackets - Pre-K and Kindergarten students are encouraged to wear solid purple sweaters, sweatshirts, and light jackets; however, solid orange, green, khaki, white, or black sweaters, sweatshirts, and light jackets are permissible, if necessary.
1st Grade – 5th Grade Shirts - Students must wear orange or green collared shirts with the Gretna No. 2 logo (may be long or short sleeved). -
Shirts must be tucked in at all times.
Lights Jackets/Sweaters/Sweatshirts - Students must wear solid orange, green, khaki, white or black jackets, sweaters, and sweatshirts.
Belts - Students must wear brown or black belts with looped clothing. (no large belt buckles)
All Students (Pre-K – 5 th ) Bottoms - Students in grades Pre-K – 5 must wear khaki pants, shorts, skirts, jumpers, and/or skorts. Cargo pants and capri pants are not permitted.
Shoes/Socks - Lace-up or Velcro athletic/tennis shoes with a rubber sole must be worn. Students are free to wear any color shoes. No slip-on shoes or rain boots may be worn.
Socks must be solid white or black only. Footed white or black stockings/tights are allowed on cold days. Leggings are not allowed.
Winter Wear - Solid white or black undershirts may be worn under school shirts (may be long or short sleeved). - Any color or type of heavy overcoat may be worn to school, but it may not be worn in the classroom.
Students are expected to be neatly groomed and wear their complete school uniform daily. Uniform violations may result in disciplinary action, and parents may be contacted to bring proper uniforms.
Violations:
Teachers will administer disciplinary measures in the classroom for uniform violations. If a violation occurs, the student will receive the following:
- A phone call/behavior report
- Office behavior report/detention
- Parental conference/discipline action
