Our Mission & Vision

Nestled in the beautiful city of Kenner, Louisiana, John Clancy/ Joseph Maggiore Elementary School for the Arts has risen above many challenges to create an environment that embodies its mission of creating lifelong learners. Clancy/Maggiore is named after John Clancy who was a Kenner native and first school board president, and Joseph S Maggiore Sr. who served as mayor of Kenner from 1958 to 1962 and was also a math teacher for 28 years. In 2016, Clancy Maggiore Elementary was honored with the Blue Ribbon award for being an Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing School.

With a diverse population of over 515 pre-kindergarten through fifth graders, students are empowered to excel by our school motto of Work Hard/Get SMART. The students have proven that despite any challenges that they may face, they will flourish both academically and socially. As one of two arts-integrated schools in the Jefferson Parish Public School System, students receive music, visual art, and dance classes at every grade level. An understanding and appreciation for the Fine Arts is integrated into the schoolÂ’s curriculum, creating a unique combination of artistic expression and instruction.

Our school has proven that with personalized interventions, research-based instruction, and a focus on students, a school can transform the lives of children. Our daily creed says that Clancy/ Maggiore kids are S.M.A.R.T. (Successful, Motivated, Accountable, Respectful and Trustworthy), and the actions of the students, faculty and staff are proof that with determination, all things are possible.
